Keith Fries appointed Team Boca Club Director

January 13, 2026 – Team Boca has appointed Keith Fries as Club Director. Keith has been with the club for 20+ years and brings a wealth of administrative and coaching experience. He has a Business degree from the University of Florida, a Master’s Degree in Sports Administration and an advanced degree in Education Leadership (Ed.S). While earning his business degree in Gainesville, he created the North Florida Express Soccer Club and helped guide the BU17-BU19 teams to three straight FYSA State Final 4s, winning the State Final in 1991. In 2021, he led the Team Boca U19/U20 team to the USYS Regional Championship and participated in the USYS National Championships. In 1992, he worked at Tennessee Tech University in their athletics program in charge of marketing and game day operations while completing his course work. In 1993 he was appointed the Directror of Marketing and Fundraising for the FAU Athletics program. In 1995 he was promoted to the division of University Advancement and the FAU Foundation where he served in roles as the Director of the Annual Giving Program, the Director of the Alumni Association, and as an Assistant Vice President until his retirement in 2020. Keith was a significant part of the team that brought football to FAU and was instrumental in creating the Owl Fund in support of intercollegiate athletics.
Keith has been involved in the Florida’s soccer community since he was four, starting as a youth player in South Miami. He was a two-time all-state high school player and a two-time All-Dade county player. He later played college soccer at Campbell University and spent four seasons competing in the former Florida State Semi-Pro Soccer League. His coaching career includes roles at Eastside High School in Gainesville, FAU High, and currently as the varsity boys’ coach at Olympic Heights. He has coached over 50 players that have went on to play in college and currently has former players that serve as both high school and club coaches within the State.  Collectively, Keith has been a player and coach for over 50+ years.
As Team Boca approaches their 50th Anniversary as a travel program, Keith aims to keep the club moving forward as one of the State’s longstanding legacy clubs. Working closely with staff and an Advisory Committee composed of former Club Director Bill D’Addio, and club pioneers Bob Rollins and Art Turpel, Keith will work to enhance the “youth soccer experience” for our players and families.
“Everyone involved in Team Boca should feel privileged to have the opportunity to impact the lives of kids. It is our job to ensure that our players have a positive competitive youth soccer experience. There are so many life lessons that can be learned from participation as a teammate on a competitive travel team. I am honored to be trusted by the SABR Board and the Team Boca Advisory Committee to lead Team Boca into its 50th year and beyond. We have an incredible wealth of experience and knowledge within our club, who have dedicated large portions of their lives to coach and mentor the kids in our communities. I look forward to working with our staff and the Advisory Board to shape the next 50 years of Team Boca.
