Congratulations to coaches Patrick Baker and Marcelo Castillo and the Team Boca ECNL RL G2007/08 squad in reaching the finals of the grueling ECNL RL Leaders Cup at the Premier Sports Complex at Lakewood Ranch.

“Excited to have represented our club in this first-ever ECRL Leaders Cup,” said coach Patrick Baker. “Congrats to Beach FC on winning the U19 bracket. The six, 50-minute games in three days are not easy, but proud of the girls and how they navigated the event. The girls were amazing.”

The Team Boca ECNL RL G10 squad finished off the weekend with a 3-0 victory as they blanked Florida West FC ECNL RL G10, 3-0, with goals coming from Valentina Mugica, Delfina Banegas, and Leah Gottlieb. Mugica and Banegas finished the weekend with three goals each. It was their second straight shutout after defeating PDA South Blue ECNL RL G10, 4-0, the day before.
“The overall performance for the whole weekend was great,” said coach Guillermo Henriquez.
The Team Boca ECNL RL G11 squad closed out the weekend undefeated following its 2-0 win over Florida Krush ECNL RL G11. Isabella Pastrana and Valentina Thomas each scored, and goalkeepers Sydney Pokabla and Syd Carlo split time in earning the shutout.
“After a few months out for high school, the team started the Spring season strong, going 2-0-1 at the ECNL Showcase,” said coach Stuart Barker.

Morgan Tyrakoski scored off an assist from Lola Hathorne midway through the second half as the Team Boca ECNL RL G2007/08 squad rallied from an early 1-0 deficit and forced a penalty kick shootout and ultimately advanced to the semifinals of the Leaders Cup competition at the ECNL Florida and ECNL RL Florida National Showcase at Lakewood Ranch.
Goalkeeper Mia Castano made a save, and two kickers from Slammers FC ECNL RL G2007/08 missed.
Katherine Beckwith scored on the fifth PK to send the girls into the semifinals, 3-1, where they will face the Mississippi Rush ECNL RL G2007/08, who topped Team Boca, 2-1 earlier in the day. A victory in the 9:10 a.m. contest on Field 16 will send the Team Boca ECNL RL G2007/08 squad to the 1 p.m. finals.
“Coach (Marcelo) Castillo and I are very proud of the girls,” said coach Patrick Baker. “We received a lifeline to get into the quarterfinals and then showed great resolve to advance on PKs versus the Slammers. The wind was a factor; both teams scored with it, and at times it was tough to deal with. I’m proud of our players’ mentality and looking forward to the semifinals.”

Huge congratulations go out to Team Boca Futsal Director Daniel Cavalcanti, who was a member of the first graduating class of a Pro License issued by CBF and sanctioned by CONMEBOL.
This remarkable achievement is a testament to his dedication, expertise, and commitment to advancing futsal. We are proud to celebrate his milestone and look forward to his continued leadership and success with Team Boca’s Futsal program.
The CBF PRO Futsal License is Brazil’s highest-level futsal coaching credential, issued by the Confederação Brasileira de Futebol (CBF) through its CBF Academy platform.
It is sanctioned by CONMEBOL—the governing football body of South America—granting it continental recognition across the Americas and significant influence in international coaching markets.
Within the global coaching education hierarchy, it is considered a PRO-level qualification, equivalent to the UEFA Pro License in Europe, representing the pinnacle of achievement in the field.
Few coaches outside of Brazil hold this distinction; there are only three in the United States, including Cavalcanti.
The certificate was awarded on Monday at CBF Headquarters in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, following the completion of final task assignments. The required workload was fulfilled over many months in 2025.
Cavalcanti is pictured alongside the current head coach of the Brazilian National Futsal team, Marquinhos Xavier, at the CBF Headquarters in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
