Welcome back Scott Baker....
Coach Scott returns to Team Boca this season
as the coach of our Girls U17 White team as well as a Trainer for our High School Age
Division. Scott is also the Athletic Director at Pope John
Paul II High School in Boca Raton, as well as the new Boys Varsity
coach for the 2009-2010 season. Prior to serving at PJP II,
he was the Women's Varsity Head Coach at Stoneman
Douglas High School in Parkland where he led the Eagles to the 2007
State Championship and was selected as the 2007 Broward County Coach
of the Year by the Sun Sentinel. Coach Scott also lead our
girls U16 White team to the State Championship crown last year as
U15's.
Prior to coaching for Team Boca
Scott
served as the Men's and Women's Head Coach for
Defiance College in Ohio. Scott also previously served
as the Coach for the Flagler College (St. Augustine, FL) Womens Soccer team as well as
their Asst. Head Coach for the Mens team. With Scott at the helm
both teams finished the 2003/04 season ranked in the Top 25 &
Regional Finalists. Immediately prior to his season at Flagler,
Scott coached at Brookdale Community College in Brookdale, N.J.
where he led them to a Regional and District Championship as well as
becoming National Finalists. Scott was awarded Coach of the Year
for his efforts. Scott has also served as Head Coach for Jersey City
University as well as various High School programs in New Jersey, as
well as the Boys New Jersey Select team for three years.
As in the case of most of our coaches, Scott
demonstrated a great deal of talent playing the game before deciding
to be a teacher of the game. Scott was a High School All Conference
and All State player in New Jersey as well as an All-Star College
player at Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey, where he led
his Glassboro team to their divisions NCAA National Championship
in 1990. Scott was later drafted in the EISL Professional Indoor
Soccer League in 1996.
Coach Scott has a Masters Degree in Education and
currently holds a USSF & NSCAA National Coaching license and
certification. Please take a few minutes and introduce yourself to
