Rocky Orezzoli
Coach and Trainer
Rocky Orezzoli is back again for his 18th year with Team Boca. At
one time or another Rocky has coached just about every age girls
team in our program. This season he returns as
the Coach of our
Girls U14 White team, who he lead to the State Cup Final Four last
season. Rocky also recently finished
coaching his ninth season at the helm of the Lynn University
womens soccer program. Just the second person ever to hold such a
position, Orezzoli assumed control of the LU womens program in 1998
after serving as an assistant coach the previous five seasons. He
produced immediate results, leading the Fighting Knights to the 1998
NCAA Division II National Title and has led Lynn to a very
impressive winning record since.
A native of Queens,
N.Y. who spent time on Long Island before moving to Florida at an
early, age, Orezzoli played his high school soccer at Piper High
School in Sunrise before attending Florida Atlantic University where
he played four years of soccer. Playing both as a midfielder and
defender, Orezzoli became the schools first-ever four-year letter
winner in mens soccer. A 1989 FAU grad with a bachelors degree in
accounting, Orezzoli then passed the Certified Public Accountants
examination. Since graduating from FAU, Orezzoli has been involved
in womens soccer at nearly every level. He served as the head
girls soccer coach at Boca Ratons St. Andrews Prep for six years
before taking over the program at Spanish River for five seasons,
putting together an impressive 128-14-7 while leading the Sharks.
His teams won five district titles and made three Final Four
appearances, winning state titles in 1996 and 1997. He earned a
number of awards during his stay at Spanish River, earning numerous
Coach of the Year honors in the process.
Rocky has a US
Soccer Federation National Coaching license and is certainly one of
the most experienced and respected coaches in the state. If you
have never met Rocky please take a few minutes and introduce
yourself to one of the nicest guys in our sport.
