May 1, 2009, UPDATE Congrats to Brittany (3A) & Chrissy (4A) who were selected Player of the Year in their respective FHSAA Classification!

Four Team Boca Players Finalists for Florida High School Player of the Year

April 27,2009, (Boca Raton, Fl.), Team Boca continues to show it's dominance in girls travel soccer and the High School soccer scene by having four of their players nominated for Florida High School Player of the Year in four out of five FHSAA Classifications.  FloridaGirlsSoccer.com has announced that Abby Carr (6A), Chrissy Gratz (4A), Brittany D'Addio (3A), and Gilda Doria (2A), are all finalists for the coveted Player of the Year Award which will be announced later this week.

Abby Carr (5A),  a Junior from Miami Springs High School (Team Boca U16 White), had 28 goals and 10 assists.  Coach's comment: Abby is a solid player with great vision on the field. Being strong and soccer smart as well as her work ethic enables Abby to be one of the top players in South Florida.  Chrissy Gratz (4A), a Senior from Archbishop McCarthy (Team Boca U18 White), had 50 goals and 15 Assists.  Coach's Comment:  Chrissy has quick speed and a great vision for the game. Her natural ability combined with her coachability make her an ideal player.  Brittany D'Addio (3A), a Junior from Pope John Paul II (Team Boca U17 White), had 37 goals and 27 assists.  Coach's comments: Brittany is a gifted striker with great vision, so if she doesn't go to goal herself, she always seems to find the open player for an assist. That's a valuable combination. Gilda Doria (2A), a Junior from Kings Academy (Team Boca U16 White), had 21 goals and 17 assists.  Coach's comments:  Gilda is always one of the hardest working players on the field and makes everyone around her a better player.

"We are very proud that Abby, Chrissy, Brittany, and Gilda are being recognized as top high school players in Florida"  said Rocky Orezzoli, Girls Soccer Director of Coaching for Team Boca. "  It's a wonderful and deserving honor for each of them" said Orezzoli.  It is no coincidence that all four girls play on Team Boca teams that have reached the State Cup Final Four.
